An arc flash can release more heat than the surface of the sun in a fraction of a second. This course helps you understand that hazard well enough to make good decisions in front of energized equipment.
You will learn how shock and arc-flash hazards differ, how the approach boundaries around exposed parts work, what incident energy really means and what drives it up or down, and how to read and use equipment labels, including what to do when there is no label at all. The course ties it together by showing how this information guides the protective equipment you wear and the way you plan the job. It is based on NFPA 70E (2024 edition).
Built for electrical workers, technicians and supervisors. Plan on roughly 3 to 4 hours. You can start and stop whenever you like, and your progress is saved. Each lesson ends with a short quiz, and the final quiz opens once those are passed. One final quiz of 50 questions, and you pass with 40 correct. You will see your score and whether you passed.
This course supports your training. It doesn't replace the standard itself or your employer's safety program and hands-on training.
