Electrical injuries are preventable, and NFPA 70E is the standard that spells out how. This self-paced course takes you through NFPA 70E (2024 edition) in plain language, so you understand not just what the rules say but why they exist and how to apply them on the job.
You'll learn how the standard fits with OSHA requirements, how to size up a task before you start, how to decide what protection a job calls for, and how to keep a job safe from the first conversation to the last step. The course also covers maintenance expectations and the extra care needed around equipment with special hazards, such as batteries, capacitors and DC systems. A closing section shows what changed from the previous edition, so you can update what you already know.
Built for electricians, technicians, maintenance staff, supervisors and safety coordinators. Plan on roughly 5 hours. You can start and stop whenever you like, and your progress is saved. A final exam follows the lessons, and you pass with 40 of 50 correct. You will see your score and whether you passed.
This course supports your training. It doesn't replace the standard itself or your employer's safety program and hands-on training.
